There seems to be a bit of a battle for supremacy between the 3 major game consoles. What is the best is more or less open to view each of them have merit. The Wii has some level of interaction that the others simply can not match, but availability is somewhat limited for games, while Xbox and PS3 have great game library to choose from. My favorite is the PSP, simply by the size and portability and the fact that I'm getting on a bit and I can use it while the wife is watching Naked gardeners Property Trinny Haunted 'or whatever …

The Xbox 360 comes in three configurations, the entry level is the Xbox 360 Arcade, which has no hard drive. There's the compound Xbox 360 Pro (or premium) that has a 20 GB hard drive, a wireless gamepad Xbox 360, composite AV cable, and the combination of component HDTV cables. The built-in hard drive allows gamers to save games, log on to the Xbox Live service, and store data such as photos, music and downloadable content from Xbox Live Marketplace. Microsoft added the Xbox 360 Elite systems to its offerings in 2007. For the higher price, you will receive a black Xbox 360 system with a 120GB hard drive. The Elite package includes HDMI, component and composite AV cables and matching black wireless headset and gamepad accessories.

The Xbox's closest rival of the four main consoles really is the Sony PlayStation 3 (or PS3) that comes with a choice of 40 GB or 80 GB hard drive. The 40GB model can play PS1 games, but, strangely, they can not run PS2 titles, while the 80GB model can play both. It is, however, much more expensive than the Xbox. Part of the reason is that Sony decided to include a Blu-Ray in the system. The unit can play both Blu-ray and standard DVD.

Microsoft was able to take an early lead in the battle with the release of the Xbox 360 a full year before the PlayStation 3. This makes it easier to bring to the courts of third party developers to create games for the 360, but now the games tend to be released for both platforms simultaneously.

The Wii is a completely different ball game and offers a much more interactive experience. It's not as powerful as two main rivals, but has a unique motion-sensing controller, the Wiimote. This device allows you to play games like tennis, to replicate the movements as if you're actually playing sport, or if you are brandishing a sword in an RPG, you swing the controller in the same way. This has made the Wii one of the most popular consoles on the market, but the DVD will only play games, can not be used for movies. This has not affected the popularity of a major shortage due to high demand and shortage in Christmas 2007. If you want this ability visit http://wii-homebrew.net/

Games on the Xbox and PS3 are very similar, but the same games on the Wii can look very different. The processor runs at 729 MHz Wii, while Xbox and PS3 run a PowerPC-based 3.2 GHz, which is considerably faster.

If you want high-definition games, Xbox and PS3 have nailed, but for me, what the Wii is not in power, it makes up in pure fun and interactivity in the game.
